Prof. Dr. med vet (et) Safwat Ali Hassan
BVSc., MVSc., PhD., professor of veterinary surgery, anesthesiology and radiology Manager and Owner of the Small Animal Education Center
The hospital manager Safwat Ali Hassan was born in 1956 in Egypt. There, he already did his high school diploma in the age of 16 and studied veterinary medicine at the Assiut University in Egypt. After his final exams, he worked as assistant, scientific co-worker, and lecturer for surgery. Furthermore, he worked at different universities in USA, Germany, and Egypt. He acquired several academic positions up to professor of veterinary surgery, anesthesiology and radiology. During his scientific work, he wrote 3 scientifical thesis, several articles in reference books, scientific journals, as well as 70 publications on surgery of small animals, large animals, and equines. Besides, he gave a lot of lectures on national and international congresses and is member of several veterinary societies.
Prof. Dr. Ali Hassan developed several new techniques, as i.e. bone fixtures, joint implants on ruptures of cruciate ligaments of stifle joints and the spinal endoscopy on dogs. His important developments are the minimal invasive therapy methods for spinal diseases , in a word MIT.

Brit Martens
Co-Owner of the Small Animal Education Center. Veterinary approbated 1999 Uni Giessen
Miss Martens is responsible for clinic management, neurology, computed tomography, general medicine, medicine and oncology.
Since August 2014 she has been the Co-Owner of the Small Animal Clinic Merkurpark. She helped build the clinic and has close ties towards the patients and their pets. Her specialties are in CT, internal medicine, the treatment of pets and emergency medicine. Miss Martens a founding member of the expert group computertomography.
